Car of the Week

The Mazda Furai

This 2008 Supercar was supposed to be rippin' up the roads and shootin' down Mazda's competition three years ago... what happened?

Before I go into that, I want to list some stats:

Top speed of around 180mph
0 - 60 in THREE little seconds
Weighed only 1,488 pounds (675kg)

When the car was first being tested, it was put to the limits it would have been put to in a race, but it couldn't handle the stress and heat(?) and caught on fire. Thankfully, the driver was not injured or killed, and the fire team could get to the car before its two gas tanks exploded...

(here is a link to the full article)

This car would have been an amazing car and I really hope that Mazda have gone back to the drawing board and fixed whatever errors there may have been.

Thank you for tuning in and please like and comment your suggestions or opinions.

Car of the Week!

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento (Sixth Element in English) is Amazing in every way. Period.
Right off the bat I'm going to tell you that this car is my Favorite Car In The WORLD! (It was actually the inspiration for the way this blog looks.) It looks great, no, Awesome! Its design was inspired by the elements of the earth... Mostly carbon. It is actually made from not much other than Carbon Fiber*:

- The Body
- The Chassis
- The Dashboard
- And most of the structure inside and out.

One of the most interesting things about this car is that it has gone to great lengths to be as light as possible. The outside, as you know, is made of mostly *Carbon Fiber. This revolutionary metal was made as a combination of Carbon and Plastic. This does not sound very impressive, but it is Strong and Very Lightweight. Also, the windows are just plastic to cut down on the weight of glass. Instead of paint to give some parts that red color, Lamborghini put flakes of crystal in the Carbon to reflect red color. On the Inside, the dashboard is basically taken out and so is the radio, center console, interior lights, and seats are taken out just to eliminate that weight. The seats are cushions stuck directly onto the Chassis. But all that weight loss has its perks!

Here are some numbers:

- 0-60mph in only 2.3 seconds!
- Top Speed of over 205mph!
- Curb weight of only 999kg (2,202lbs)
- 5.2liter V10 engine borrowed from a Lamborghini Gallardo
- 4-wheel drive

But, as much as I hate to admit it... This car has many problems. A whopping price, a fragile body, a usage issue, and an overly simple aura of it.

- Was a car for a Lamborghini milestone celebration car and only 20 were made. All are gone.
- Reported auction prices of $2.9Million.
- If crashed, It will shatter... Literally SHATTER.
- It is not Street Legal.
- And it is so simple (because of weight), that it lacks many things that cars should have.

Good car. Bad downsides.

I'll take it! :D

If you want to see more of this car, click 'this video link' to watch a video clip from the car show TopGear! TopGear presenter Richard Hammond takes this car for some high-speed laps around Imola Racetrack and teaches you more about the Sesto Elemento.

Thank you for your time and be sure to comment if you like or suggest for the future.

Future SUV Cars!

There are some very cool SUV cars coming out in the not-so-distant-future and I am very exited for all of them! Nissan, Jeep, Mercedes, Range Rover, and Scion are just some of the cars that are soon to emerge.

Here are some now!

The 2017 Cadillac XT5:
This large SUV will replace the Cadillac SRX and in many ways it is better. It is lighter by 300lbs, has 310 horsepower, All Wheel Drive or Rear Wheel Drive, Apple Company technology, and a revised chassis. Of course there is much more but that is all the info I could find. This will be a worthy car for late 2016/early 2017! Keep on coming out with great ideas Cadillac!

The 2017(?) Scion C-HR:
This tiny SUV is Scion's take on the future. Currently Scion is being quite secretive about this car so I have almost no information on it... but I can tell you that this baby SUV's body styling and interior styling are not finished yet, in fact the interior hardly HAS a plan yet, just many concepts. Also, this car might run on Hydrogen! This car is going to be Epic and very cool to see around... when it comes out on an unknown date.

The 2017/2018 Nissan Juke Second Generation:
This VERY funky small SUV will not be out for quite a long time so I was reluctant to show this one, but it is worth the wait. Good news though, there will be a 2016 Juke that kind of looks like this! This car was Inspired by the old Datsun 240Z race cars so it could be called the JukeZ I guess... The Renault-Nissan Corp. is still working on the Inside of the 'JukeZ' and also hope to make the car bigger in general. Personally, I love Nissans and hope to see this out sooner than 2018.

The 2016 BMW X2:
X1, X3, X4, X... wait, WHERE IS THE X2?!?!?! Now they finally have one! The X2 will be a lot slimmer than the other Xs and in that case, more aerodynamic, plus it will be very similar in the way it drives to a Mini Cooper, just bigger. It will basically be like the X1's thinner twin brother with many of the same things. Same engine, same horsepower, same transmission, and same AWD system. I love the X series cars and will LOVE when this amazing car emerges from the factory!

Thank you all for your time and be sure to comment if you like or suggest for the future!

Car of the Week!

Mini Cooper Roadster

"Heavy on style, light on roof, this agile two-seat soft-top is the essence of open-motoring: a lively ride, brilliant handling and one lucky co-pilot." Says MiniUSA and they are definitely right! This nippy little car has an astounding, 181 Horsepower and a top speed of 145mph and that is pretty good for a car with such a small engine. Plus, since it is so light, it goes from 0 - 60 in just over 5 seconds.

Here are some numbers:

- 181hp
- 145mph top speed
- Turbocharged 16-valve alloy engine
- 2,700clb (Curb Weight)
- Razor sharp handling

The Mini Roadster also has some of the latest and coolest tech that you could put in a car:

- 'Smart' spoiler that will shift and adjust for optimal performance and handling
- Sport mode that optimizes speed + timing for better performance, better racing, and more attention
- Performance 'alive' suspension that helps when turning corners
- Tight power steering
- Sirius XM satellite radio
- and much more

There are not many downsides to the Roadster, but one major one is that if this light, small car ever were to get into an accident, it would be dangerously crushed... and so would the person inside (in many ways). The solution, just don't crash! (you're welcome).

Price: Starting at $26,100

Thank you all for your time! Comment if you liked this or want to suggest for the future.
